This award recognises an individual who has made a profound and lasting contribution to the promotion of diversity and inclusion within the engineering profession. It celebrates those actively working to create a more equitable and representative engineering community.
Entrants should demonstrate:

implementation of successful initiatives to increase diversity in engineering

development of inclusive policies and practices within organisations
-
mentorship and support for underrepresented groups in engineering
-
advocacy for systemic changes to promote equity in the profession
-
creation of programmes to attract and retain diverse talent in engineering
-
measurable improvements in diversity and inclusion resulting from the nominee's efforts.
Eligibility
-
Entries are open to New Zealand citizens and permanent residents.

The work must have been substantially completed in New Zealand and undertaken between November 2022 and November 2024.

Entries may include work by non-engineers.

The entrant doesn’t have to be an Engineering New Zealand member.
Judging criteria

Leadership (30%): Demonstrated commitment to driving diversity and inclusion initiatives

Impact (25%): Measurable positive outcomes resulting from the nominee's efforts
-
Innovation (20%): Creative approaches to addressing diversity and inclusion challenges
-
Advocacy (15%): Effectiveness in raising awareness and promoting change
-
Sustainability (10%): Long-term viability and potential for continued impact of initiatives
